Abstract

Based on the result of research, the researcher used scaffolding technique in student reading comprehension of the eight grade at SMP Negeri 6 Palu was effective to improve students reading comprehension. There was a significance improve in accuracy and fluency for the students. It was proved by t-test is higher than t-table was 26.258> 0,000. It means that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, where the t=test was greater than t-table.
