This study examines the disparities in digital education by focusing on the socioeconomic barriers that hinder access to online learning resources. Utilizing a qualitative approach based on a comprehensive literature review, this research explores how factors such as income, geographic location, and infrastructure inequalities contribute to the digital divide in education. The rapid shift to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic exposed and exacerbated these disparities, particularly for students from low-income families, rural areas, and marginalized communities. The study highlights the challenges faced by these groups, including limited access to devices, unreliable internet connectivity, and a lack of digital literacy skills. Additionally, it discusses the broader implications of unequal access to online education, such as the widening academic achievement gap and its long-term socioeconomic consequences. By synthesizing existing research, this paper identifies key strategies for addressing these barriers, such as increasing public investment in digital infrastructure, promoting affordable access to technology, and enhancing digital literacy programs. The findings underscore the need for inclusive policies and interventions to ensure equitable access to online learning opportunities for all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
